On JetBlue the same bag costs $4 to $10 more on peak dates.

JetBlue prices checked bags by the calendar: $45 for the first bag and $59 for the second on off-peak dates, $49 and $69 on peak dates, when you add them at least 24 hours before departure. A third bag is $200. Blue Basic fares include no checked bag.

📅 Why the price changes by date

JetBlue splits the year into off-peak and peak. Peak dates cover most of spring and summer plus the November and December holidays, so the cheapest bag price only applies on quieter dates. Check the date of your flight, not the date you booked.

Domestic, Caribbean, Latin America, CanadaOff-peakPeak
1st checked bag$45$49
2nd checked bag$59$69
3rd bag and more$200$200
Overweight, 51 to 99 lb$150$150
Oversize, 63 to 80 in$150$150

These prices include the saving for adding the bag at least 24 hours before departure. JetBlue’s fee page shows higher prices if you add the bag later or at the airport, so add it when you book or before the 24-hour mark.
