Delta charges the same flat fee each way on U.S. flights, and its free-bag rules depend on status and cards.

On U.S. domestic flights Delta charges $45 for the first checked bag and $55 for the second, each way, in Main and Comfort. A third bag is $200. Medallion members and SkyMiles Amex cardholders get the first bag free.

Delta Medallion members get more free bags the higher their tier, and the weight limit rises to 70 lb on most free bags.

🌍 International bags cost differently

The flat domestic price does not apply abroad. Delta prices international bags by route, and flights between the Americas and Europe or North Africa are the most expensive.

Most routes to Europe, Australia and New Zealand do not accept bags over 70 lb, and bags over 80 inches are refused on all routes. Prices in the other currencies differ, so check your own route on delta.com.
